A Rustic Retreat With Modern Conveniences
Nestled in the woods near the shores of Green Bay this nostalgic log home awaits your arrival. The bay, with its wonderful Door County sunsets, is just a gorgeous five-minute walk away. The lodge’s southern exposure provides plenty of light for a very open, cheery feeling. There is sleeping for eight people with three bedrooms plus a loft. Accommodations include two full baths, fully equipped kitchen, dining room, living room with a natural stone fireplace, and a laundry room. A covered front porch wraps around to a back deck that offers a therapeutic hot tub (subject to winter conditions).
Each bedroom features log beds, hand-made by the home’s builder. A king-sized bed is located in the master bedroom on the main floor. A stunning log staircase leads to the second floor, where you will find two more bedrooms and a full bath. One upstairs bedroom provides a queen-sized bed and the second upstairs bedroom features a bunk bed which has a full-sized bottom and twin-sized top. Each of the second floor bedrooms have their own sliding patio doors onto a covered deck off the back of the home. The loft area is a cozy reading spot with a love seat (which can be pulled out into a twin bed). There is also a pull-out bed in the living room couch by the fireplace.
The house is beautifully decorated with custom-made barn board and distressed pine furniture through-out, as well as custom wrought-iron light fixtures in the kitchen and dining room.
You may not even want to leave the house, but if you do you are also just a four mile drive straight down Bay Shore Drive to Frank E. Murphy Park, where you will find a sandy beach and a public boat launch in the summer. There are numerous snow mobile trails throughout the county. Enjoy beautiful fall foliage or the hopeful blooms of spring.
Nearby towns include Egg Harbor village, Sturgeon Bay and quaint Carlsville. A scenic drive will lead you to any of the beautiful villages on the Door Peninsula.
